GPIO Adapter for RPi B+

Description

When the Raspberry Pi B+ was introduced a time ago, we quickly noticed that not all existing add-on boards would fit on the redesigned computer, esp. add-on boards that cover a substantial area of the computer.

We came up with a simple method of connecting existing add-on boards to the B+. The solution is a GPIO adapter comprising two male headers: a 13x2 pin header and a 20x2 pin header.

The 13x2 pin header is where the add-on board plugs into. It's a through hole straight header, so the add-on board and the adapter are parallel.

The 20x2 pin header is a through hole right angle header. It's the connection point for the B+. It allows one to use a 20x2 pin ribbon cable with female connectors. This type of cable is commonly available.

The following picture shows the intended setup:

The mounting holes are useful for fastening the GPIO adapter to an enclosure. Some of the holes can also be used for inserting a spacer between the add-on board and the GPIO adapter.
